🌟 What do you see? Exploring hidden dimensions

The painting " What do you see? " from the series "Chrono Stories" by Adam Laabs is a surreal composition full of symbolism that invites reflection on the perception of reality.

Symbolism of the painting:

The hare playing the flute: The central figure of the hare with hypnotic eyes and a crown on his head plays the flute. His intense gaze and elaborate clothing symbolize the differences between illusion and reality as well as the royal rule over the world of dreams and fantasy.

Floating Ship: In the background there is a floating ship that represents a journey of discovery and the search for new, unexplored places symbolized. The ship in the air suggests unlimited possibilities and freedom of exploration.

Surreal landscapes: Fantastic landscapes, full of strange plants and creatures, represent a mysterious and changing world. This Elements reinforce the impression of a dream in which everything is possible and nothing is as it seems.

Fly agarics: The picture shows fly agarics, which are considered magic mushrooms in various cultures and used in ceremonies become. In many traditions, fly agaric mushrooms have been and are used for their hallucinogenic properties to bring participants into a state of spiritual elevation.

Checkerboard pattern: The checkerboard pattern on which the rabbit stands symbolizes life as a game full of strategies, moves and Countermovements. Just like in chess, whoever can play wins. Others can try to beat you, they can offer you check, but until the end you have the chance of checkmate. Play and fight for your health and don't let anyone manipulate you. Don't believe everything you hear and see. History tends to repeat itself. Think about who benefits from all this – you, the people or someone else? And if someone has an interest in something, will they always play fair? This is a question worth considering before blindly believing in the media. It is well known that the media is no longer a "free media" and when someone controls the media, they do what suits them. A lie repeated 1000 times sometimes and for many becomes the "truth". Fortunately, not everyone believes everything they hear and see. Common sense is definitely more important than the voice of the crowd and the voice of the majority. What if the majority is wrong? People believed one thing for centuries, and then along came someone who said something different, and suddenly the paradigm changed. So think about whether it's worth believing everything.

Bird in flight: The bird above the scene symbolizes freedom, spirituality and transcendence. Its presence suggests that there is always the opportunity to escape limitations and discover something new.

Adam Laabs once watched a program about hallucinogenic mushrooms and heard stories from Harvard University professors. One of them said that half an hour on mushrooms taught him more about the world than 15 years at Harvard University, where he taught.

Reflections on history:

Don't believe everything you hear and don't believe everything you see. The painting "What do you see?" is a work that not only impresses with its aesthetics, but also stimulates deep reflection on the nature of reality, life decisions and the meaning of freedom. It encourages the viewer to ask questions and discover their own interpretations of the symbols depicted.

Our limited perception of reality

Human senses only allow us to perceive a small part of reality. Although our eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin provide us with information about the world, their ability to detect stimuli is severely limited. Our understanding of reality is therefore subjective and incomplete.

The human eye can perceive light wavelengths of around 380 to 740 nanometers, which is only a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Ultraviolet radiation, infrared radiation, radio waves and microwaves are invisible to us. For example, bees see in the ultraviolet, which allows them to see patterns on flowers that are invisible to the human eye. Snakes can sense infrared radiation, which helps them locate warm-blooded prey in the dark.

Our hearing is also limited to a frequency range of around 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Bats and dolphins use echolocation, using higher frequency sounds that the human ear cannot hear. Dogs can hear sounds up to about 65 kHz, which allows them to detect ultrasound.

Our senses are also not sufficient to recognize the microscopic and quantum mechanical world. Bacteria, viruses and atoms are invisible to the naked eye. It was only with the invention of microscopes and instruments for studying quantum physics that we were able to explore these areas of reality that were invisible to us. Humans cannot see the polarization of light, while some animals, such as squid, can detect it, which helps them communicate and navigate. Migratory birds use the Earth's magnetic field for navigation, which is undetectable to humans without special devices. Although the human sense of taste and smell is developed, it is not as keen as many animals, such as dogs, which can detect smells at a molecular level.

Our limitations in perceiving reality do not mean we cannot overcome them. Technologies such as microscopes, telescopes, thermal imaging cameras, and radio wave detection instruments allow us to expand our understanding of the world far beyond the natural capabilities of our senses. People who use hallucinogenic substances like mushrooms claim that these experiences have helped them understand the world better.

Our perception of reality is only a small part of what really exists. To better understand the world, we must be aware of our limitations and use technologies and natural means that allow us to expand our senses and discover what was previously hidden from us. In this way we can explore new dimensions of reality and expand the boundaries of human knowledge.
