In the collection "Cosmic Discoveries" by Dr. Magdalena Laabs and Ing. Adam Laabs art and space exploration merge. While Dr. Laabs highlights emotional aspects of the cosmos with depictions of planets and stars in her works, Adam Laabs focuses on the technical aspects of space travel, such as spaceships, astronauts and their equipment. This collection reflects the idea that we ourselves are part of the universe and opens up perspectives on our connection with the cosmos. The works invite us to reflect on our role in the immeasurable universe.

Here Birmingham Great Britain: Dr. Annie Maier is a chemical engineer and senior researcher at NASA 's Kennedy Space Center and Dr. Magdalena Laabs

Dr. Magdalena Laabs has always been interested in the cosmos and planets and visited the Kennedy Space Center in the USA many years ago. Here in Birmingham she had the opportunity to meet Dr. Annie Maier and listened with great interest as she spoke about her work. This encounter offered Dr. Laabs a deeper insight into the scientific aspects of space travel, which has further enriched her artistic vision and representation of the cosmos in her work.
Although there is no direct connection between their work and that of Dr. Maier is looking for Dr. Laabs actively seeks first-hand knowledge and information to enrich her depictions of the cosmos and cosmic motifs in her paintings.

The eternal questions of humanity

In our collection we ask ourselves the questions that have always concerned humanity: What is beyond our planet? What happens after death? These questions, which still remain unanswered, are reflected in the works of art. The space trips on offer show us only a tiny fraction of what the universe has to offer. The cosmos is infinite and full of secrets waiting to be discovered.

A window to the cosmos

The Cosmic Discoveries collection invites you to ponder these unsolved mysteries of the universe and be inspired by the immeasurable size and beauty of the cosmos. Every work of art is an expression of human curiosity and the pursuit of knowledge, a window into a world that goes far beyond our everyday experiences.

Space travel and space tourism

Space tourism, also known as civil space travel, is becoming more and more of a reality. Companies such as Virgin Galactic, SpaceX and Blue Origin are actively working to offer space travel experiences for private individuals. Virgin Galactic is planning suborbital flights and already has over 600 registrations. SpaceX, the only private company that has sent humans into orbit, is selling seats on future Crew Dragon flights. Blue Origin developed the New Shepard rocket for suborbital flights, and Axiom Space is planning the first commercial space station. The cost of such space experiences ranges from hundreds of thousands of dollars for suborbital flights to millions for orbital flights. These developments are reflected in works such as "Reflection of the Cosmic Soul", which artistically represent the fascination and progress of human space travel.
