Differences between Premium and Standard Suitcases

Material:

  • Premium suitcases: Made of polycarbonate (PC, Polycarbonate), which is known for its lightness, durability and flexibility. Polycarbonate is a material that provides excellent protection for luggage thanks to its impact resistance and ability to absorb shocks. This is the perfect choice for people who travel frequently and need a durable suitcase that will withstand even the harshest conditions.

  • Standard suitcases: Made of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), which is also a plastic, but slightly heavier and less flexible than polycarbonate. ABS is durable and impact-resistant, but does not provide as much protection as polycarbonate because it is less resistant to cracks. ABS is a good solution for people who are looking for a solid suitcase but do not need the highest level of protection.

Weight: Premium polycarbonate suitcases are lighter than standard ABS suitcases, which is crucial in the case of air travel, where the weight of luggage may be important.

  • Small Suitcase:

    • Premium (PC): 2.9 kg
    • Standard (ABS): 3.4 kg
  • Medium Suitcase:

    • Premium (PC): 3.6 kg
    • Standard (ABS): 4.1 kg
  • Large Suitcase:

    • Premium (PC): 4.3 kg
    • Standard (ABS): 4.8 kg

Summary: Premium suitcases made of polycarbonate are lighter and more durable, which makes them an ideal choice for people who value quality and durability. Thanks to the advanced properties of the material, they are more resistant to mechanical damage and better protect the contents of the luggage. Standard ABS cases are slightly heavier but are still a solid option, offering good protection for a smaller investment. The choice between a premium and standard model depends on your priorities - whether you want maximum luggage protection and lower weight, or are you looking for a more economical solution.

Suitcase Material

  • What material are the suitcases made of?

    • Our suitcases are made of two main materials: Polycarbonate (PC) and ABS. Polycarbonate is used in premium models due to its exceptional strength and flexibility. ABS is used in standard models, offering a good balance between durability and lightness.
  • Why are Polycarbonate and ABS considered the best materials for making suitcases?

    • Polycarbonate (PC) and ABS are widely considered the best plastics for suitcases due to their excellent strength, impact resistance and light weight. Other materials, such as nylon, polyethylene or polypropylene, may be cheaper or lighter, but they usually offer less protection and durability, making them less preferred for high-quality hard cases.

Additional Features

  • What is a TSA lock and why is it important?
