My painting "The Guardian of Knowledge" is inspired by Minerva, the goddess of wisdom from Roman mythology.

Firstly, I love Italy and Rome and am also interested in ancient history and the myths of various peoples. I am fascinated by how ancient cultures interpreted the world around them and how their myths and legends influenced the development of civilization as well as today's perception of values such as wisdom, strength, and protection.

"Guardian of Knowledge" symbolizes the protection and transmission of wisdom.

Minerva, as the goddess of wisdom, symbolized not only knowledge but also protection against injustice, which adds depth and universality to her figure. I believe that God is patient but just and that the truth always prevails. One should not give up if they believe something is unjust. I believe that those who act unjustly and those who consciously help in injustice will sooner or later feel the consequences of their actions. Good comes back, and so does evil.

The Guardian of Knowledge depicted in my painting possesses the knowledge of all times. She is able to point out to us what we do not know ourselves. Her knowledge comes to us in the form of intuition. We think we have come up with something ourselves, but it is a gift from her. Her wisdom and guidance help us discover the truth and make the right decisions, even in the most complicated situations.

Minerva - Goddess of Wisdom in Roman Mythology

Minerva was revered in Roman mythology as the goddess of wisdom. Her counterpart in Greek mythology was Pallas Athena. Particularly revered by the ancient Etruscans, she was considered the goddess of inventions and discoveries. The Romans also highly valued her, which is confirmed by the gladiatorial games during the Quinquatria celebrations in her honor.

Minerva was the daughter of Jupiter and the patroness of cities and people who practiced noble professions, such as artists, musicians, doctors, sculptors, and craftsmen. The Quinquatria festival was celebrated in her honor, lasting five days at the end of March. During this time, students were exempted from classes, and children brought their teachers school fees. All citizens made sacrifices to the goddess, and on the last day of the festival, Minerva "received" the gifts.

The Roman goddess Minerva was part of the divine triad, which also included Jupiter and Juno. A temple was built on the Capitoline Hill in honor of these three deities. Minerva was also considered a goddess who sprang from the head of Jupiter, fully armed, with a shield and spear in her hands.

Minerva played a very important role in Roman mythology. She was Jupiter's advisor and defended innocent people by protecting them from injustice. She was also the patroness of art, science, and women, whom she supported in their work. Her guidance is close to me as a woman involved in art and as a scientist with a PhD in economics.

The color scheme of the painting "The Guardian of Knowledge"

The color scheme of the painting "Guardian of Knowledge" is carefully chosen to reflect the majestic and mystical nature of the main figure and the surrounding world.

The main figure, the Guardian of Knowledge, is dressed in intensely red robes, symbolizing strength, energy, and determination. This draws attention to the central figure and emphasizes her importance. The background of the painting consists of a calm, blue sea, whose shades represent the mysteries and depth of the ocean, creating a contrast with the red robes of the Guardian of Knowledge.

The sky is dark, conveying the atmosphere of the night. Gold-white stars are visible in the dark sky, adding brilliance and magic to the night landscape. The stars symbolize wisdom and guidance, illuminating the darkness and showing the way.

The entire color palette creates a harmonious and dynamic composition that captures the eye and encourages reflection on the importance of knowledge and its protection. The red of the Guardian of Knowledge's robes contrasts with the cool blues of the sea and dark sky, while the gold-white stars add a touch of divinity and supernatural power to the painting.
